Timber

Your fertile roots lie beneath shrouded innocence

calling for me to seek refuge in a forest of your desires

Clinging to branches

your limbs like vines wrap me in lust

How can I resist such seduction

that seeks nourishment from subtle impulses

given off by my body’s natural response?

Responding as we dive deep into each other’s existence

Your bark covers my trunk

encompassing the very nature that lies inside me

It is inexorable I long for your sap

To taste the earthiness within your droplets

and experience your morning dew at the rising of your sun.

Could you claw or fill me with your sunlight

at the peak of my treetop that peeks through your clouds

so that our sin, the size of our combined energy

is no less than a means for survival

generating that essence which we need to live.

I can no longer remain alive without you

Breathing in your spirit provides me with sustenance

my being now dependent on the continuation

of this union where we have been grafted together.

To get her was my only thought when first perusing your foliage

My fingertips the moss directing your lips north

on a journey to encounter my own pair.

Now that stolen kiss from our pairing has led to seeds planted

in conjunction with our growth from the first exploration.

I shall remain forever exploring your timber.
